Roles and Responsibilities of District Officers for NSB
Executive Distrit Officers (Education)
Being head 01 01S1fiC,1 ducat:oti t.,epartment EDO 07.) is the lynonp.N implementation of NSB initiative as sire is required to play a proactive and leading role at each stage, of the program as detailed below: as 'Sdhoof Council
EDO (E). is to ensure. that school councils in primary/elementary schools are established strictly . in accordance with the Revised School Council Policy 2013 issued•by PMIU
ii. EDO (E) should monitor that school council meetings are conducted
every month for monitoring, accountability and approval of expenditures through SC resolutions, and
Most importantly. EDO (E) is also to-ensure that each school council haS approved an annual School Based Action Plan (SBAP) as provided—in the Revised School Council Policy 2013; based or entitlement communicated by PMIU vide letter No PESRP-ADA 1-09/2014/12282 dated 4Une 20, 2014 for FY 2014-15 and schools are incurring expenditures as per their approved SBAP

EDO (E) with. EDO (F&P) is responsible fora imMediate transfer of NSB funds from. E.;1)/: to school councils' bank 'accounts in each quarter. Each school council should have exclusive bank account ,for NSB managed by its head teacher and co-chairperson as co-signatories. Mbreover, EDOs (E) are further requested to perforrn following 4110i-tent- functions:
i. Provision of certificates regarding transfer of NSB funds from district
to schools for each quarter along with copies of cheques issued in this regard.
For primary and elementary schools, EDOs (E) are adviSed to direct concerned Dy., DEOs and AEOs to increase their number of visits to schools for mitigating financial and compliance rfSks.as,huge.fUndS are involved under this initiative. For proper utilization of NSB funds. AEOs should also be directed to verify all the expenditUre of each school and report on attached profoma before 10th of each month
